THE GLITTERING HISTORY

Had Suranas not been there, Kundan and Meenakari artistry would have been a glorious past. Closely related to the royal family of Jaipur, Suranas have some golden memories of the erstwhile Jaipur state. Over two and half centuries ago when Maharaja Jai Singh was establishing Jaipur state, he summoned the then scion of Surana Family to migrate from Delhi and settle down in the newly formed Jaipur. They were among the rare families representing Rajput and Moghul style jewellery manufacturing. Hence Maharaja Sahab wanted them to settle in Jaipur to take up jewellery manufacturing for the royalty. And till date, most of the royal families possess jewellery crafted by them.

THE INCEPTION POINT OF

275 years of legacy

Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur, was instrumental in inviting the family of Surana jewellers to promote the intricate art of handcrafted gold, enamel, Kundan, diamond and precious stone jewellery. But later, the Surana brothers, with their rich experience, hard work, dedication, fine craftsmanship and customer satisfaction, became an intrinsic part of the city’s heritage and handed this craft down the generations creating masterpieces reminiscent of the bygone royal era. To torch forward this legacy, Kamal Chand Surana, set up the store of Surana Jewellers of Jaipur to gave a new dimension to Kundan and Meenakari art, where the jewellery lovers and celebrity from all across the globe, come down to buy the masterpieces crafted with loved and perfection by this brand.

The flag bearer of Kundan and Meenakari jewellery, Surana Family, took up the onus of popularising this perishing craft. Suranas teamed up with master atisans to revive the glory and magic of Kundan & Meenakari. With an uncanny knack for analysing precious stones, they popularized the concept of stone studded jewellery preferably with diamonds and coloured stones. With unmatched fineness and delicacy in the artwork, Suranas soon became a signature in Jewellery trade.
